Maitland-Australian Physiotherapy Seminars, or MAPS, offers courses for those looking to become Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapists (COMT). These rigorous courses and exams contain multiple components such as: written short-answer, multiple choice, video-patient exam, and an OSCE-oral/practical (a hands-on exam of manual skills). The Maitland COMT exams emphasize clinical decision-making, advanced orthopedic clinical practice, accurate techniques of assessment/treatment, effective treatment progression and safety. Upon passing the 2 day long examination a PT may gain the title of COMT showing their competency in manual therapy.
Rachel Michael recently passed these exams and became a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapists. Rachel graduated from University of Indianapolis with a Doctor of Physical Therapy and will be adding the title of COMT to her current title of PT. Indiana Physical Therapy wants to congratulate Rachel on her hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing our patients at IPT with the best possible care. Rachel is currently a therapist at our Brooklyn Clinic located at 3534 Brooklyn Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46809. Indiana Physical Therapy is home to more COMT than any other physical therapy group in the country!
