Functional Capacity Exam

Indiana Physical Therapy offers a Functional Capacity Evaluation at all of its 8 locations. A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is a process which consist of an evaluation which assesses and documents a patient's current ability to perform work, from a physical, medical, and ergonomic perspective. The Functional Capacity Evaluation process will benefit those employees and employers who are trying to be placed or place an employee back into a safe working environment following a work or non-work related injury. The FCE process may also assist those individuals whom have been fighting disability or injury for a period of time and are looking to safely return to the working environment. Any injury may be evaluated with the FCE process, ranging from spinal injuries, shoulder injuries, hand and elbow injuries, to multi-trauma injuries.

Occupational therapy is a rehabilitation profession which helps individuals of all ages with physical, cognitive, sensory, and motor disabilities regain, develop, and build skills needed for self-care, work, and play. Occupational therapy helps people regain independence through the use of therapeutic methods, assistive technology, patient education, and environmental modifications.
